How To Connect
Join
We need your membership and your support in order to do our job for sporting dog owners. This means three things. We need numbers, in order to gain clout in the political arena. We need your leadership and support, in order to get our message out to the sporting dog community. And we need your dues and donations to pay for the fight against anti-hunting and animal rights groups.
The column on the left side of each page describes our dues structure and shows you how to join. We also ask you to complete the form on our “Contact” page. This information will let us know how you can help, where you live so that you can join the fight when issues arise in your state or region, and the kinds of dogs you raise and what you do with them.
All information will be 100% confidential. Nothing will ever leave the organization.
Volunteer
We need your help. Please let us know what you can do, and describe any of your strengths or skills that will help us in this fight. Let us know if you would like to work in a leadership role, serve on committees, join with other people in your state, and also tell us about things you are not able to do because of time limitations or other reasons. Please use the form on the “Contact” page.
We have a special need for attorneys, veterinarians and wildlife biologists to assist us. Attorneys are needed to represent us in legal matters or in court challenges, and veterinarians and wildlife biologists can provide expert testimony and commentary.
We also need people to do the unglamorous jobs of sending letters, attending meetings, answering correspondence, contacting elected officials, attending sportsmen’s shows, and helping us to recruit support.
Keep Informed
Please read our Blog journal regularly to keep informed of the issues, learn what we are doing about them, be informed of organization news and to link to other people and organizations.
Our goal is to keep our members fully informed at all times.
A link to the Blog journal can be accessed in the column on the left side of each page of this website.
Discuss The Issues
Please check out the message board link in the column on the left side of every page, and also the chat room link.
We want you to use the message board to discuss the issues we face, our strategies to face them, and the internal affairs of the organization. Your opinions, ideas and insights are invaluable to us, and you will play a major role in forming the policies of this organization.
The chatroom will be used for live meetings of the general membership, the advisory board, and various committees. Everyone is welcome to listen and participate. We will meet for an hour every Monday evening at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
Our goal is to have a completely open organization that is very responsive to our members concerns and ideas.
Vote
Another link on the left side of each page allows you to vote in a poll on questions pertaining to the organization. Your voice will be heard, and we want to make sure we have the consensus of the vast majority of our members for every action we take.
After a week to allow everyone time to vote, we will publish the results of each poll on the Blog journal. The results will have a very strong influence on our policies, decisions and actions.
Our goal is to be as Democratic as possible, and totally responsive to our members’ concerns.
Interact
We are offering a free classifieds site to allow our members to post advertisements without charge. Please feel free to advertise anything for sale or to be given away, make announcements about organizations, meetings and activities, or simply look for new friends. The link to the classifieds page also is on the left.
